What is Freezer Beef?

Well it’s definitely not spoiled, old or left over.  Freezer beef is what Roseda calls its bulk beef program, cause well, you’re going to need a big freezer to store all of it!

Roseda offers a special program where you get the same great tasting steaks, burgers and roast for less because you are getting it in bulk.  The beef is Roseda beef, dry aged and as tender as any steak you would get from us online or in store.

The biggest advantage to the freezer beef program is the number of options.

  • First you determine how much beef do you want; a whole, side or quarter?  We offer various types of freezer beef and each is priced accordingly.
  • You choose how thick you want your steaks to be.
  • You choose how much you want your roasts to weigh.
  • You pick what happens with the trim. You have the option of stew cubes, which are great for kabobs and cooking, or you can have ground beef in bulk or as steak burger patties.

How does pricing work?

Pricing is based on several things.  First, pricing is defined as cost per pound.  Each option: Whole, Side, Fore and Hind quarters are priced differently (Please refer to the website).  The poundage is based on the hanging weight, but the hanging weight is not the amount that you will receive.  Due to dry aging and the processing your actually beef amount with be less.  It’s about a 50% shrink. But the price includes delivery to centralized locations in Maryland.

How long does it take to get an order?

Once you submit your order form online or via fax, you can expect 3-4 weeks period before your beef if ready for delivery.

How does payment work?

You cannot make payment online for the Freezer Beef because the weight is not determined until after the order is placed.  Generally, people will place a deposit by phone or by visiting the farm.  The remainder is paid on the date of the delivery.  *Deposits are not required, but they are preferred.
