Last night some of us attended “Dine with a Dietitian” at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Towson as an opportunity to explore the age old question of “What should I eat?”
As it turns out, March is National Nutrition Month. The meal was all about adding color and flavor to our plates—fruits and veggies were the theme of the night! Needless to say, there wasn’t any red meat on our plates. Now we want to let you know, just because we work for Roseda, does not mean we eat red meat at every meal. In fact, we encourage people to enjoy Roseda Beef in moderation.
Dietitian Alison Massey MS, RD, LDN shared the key things to look for when reading food labels as well as pointing out some great super foods and even super spices. Chef Gabby Schreiber prepared several items for the attendees to try. The meal started off with a tossed green salad, and a homemade dressing. The salad was served with Spaghetti Squash, Quinoa Salad and Tilapia Provencal. For dessert we had an assortment of berries and whip cream.
The meal was very good and the lecture was extremely insightful. They have held several Dine with a Dietitian evenings. For more information we encourage you to check out St. Joseph’s website. We’ve also included the recipes from last night’s dinner, check them out for yourself.
